Heist of Rs 11 Crore Worth of iPhones Shakes MP, Cops Under Scrutiny

A heist involving 1,500 iPhones valued at Rs 11 crore has sent shockwaves through Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, leading to the suspension of one policeman and the sidelining of two others for alleged dereliction of duty, according to officials.

The robbery reportedly took place after the truck driver was drugged and gagged on August 15, with the truck en route from Gurugram to Chennai. The transporters have made these claims, although Apple has yet to contact the police.

A detailed investigation is underway, with videography of the looted truck currently in progress. Initial reports suggest the theft began in Narsinghpur district. A formal case is expected to be registered soon.
