In a dramatic rescue, a 6-year-old girl, who was allegedly kidnapped by five people including her relatives, was found at the Indo-Nepal border, law enforcement officials reported on Friday.

The child had vanished on August 27 during a routine outing to a local store. Her family received ransom demands via WhatsApp, originating from a Malaysian number. Immediate actions by the police, including scrutinizing over 300 CCTV footage and phone numbers, led them to the suspects in Sitamarhi, Bihar.

The suspects, among them the girl's maternal uncle Krishnan and aunt Shahida, planned the abduction to settle a monetary debt. The girl was transported to Nepal, but with the detailed investigation, police intervened and arrested the suspects just as they were crossing the border. The girl has reunited with her family.
