NIA Searches Linked to VHP Leader Vikas Prabhakar's Murder in Punjab

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday carried out searches in Punjab in connection with its probe into the murder of VHP leader Vikas Prabhakar.
Prabhakar, known as Vikas Bagga, was fatally shot on April 13 at his confectionary shop in Nangal, Roopnagar district. He held the position of Nangal president for the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP).
The case was transferred to the NIA from the state police on May 9. An NIA spokesperson confirmed the ongoing searches related to Prabhakar's murder, though specific details were not disclosed.
In a coordinated operation with the Delhi Police Special Cell, the NIA recently arrested Dharminder Kumar, alias Kunal, from Ludhiana. Kumar, aged 22, had supplied the illegal arms and ammunition used in the high-profile murder. Investigations revealed that the arms were procured from Madhya Pradesh and supplied to the shooters under the direction of foreign-based Khalistani terrorist Harwinder Kumar, also known as Sonu.
