Lok Sabha Panel Sets Sights on Key Issues from Railway Safety to Climate Change
The Lok Sabha's Committee on Estimates, chaired by Sanjay Jaiswal, will focus on railway passenger safety and population policies among other critical issues. The committee will examine performances in diverse areas including health, DRDO projects, climate impact, BSNL services, skill development, and archaeology, and recommend policy alternatives for efficiency.

A Lok Sabha panel, led by Sanjay Jaiswal, will deliberate on passenger safety in railways and population stabilization policies among other critical subjects during its tenure.
The Committee on Estimates will also scrutinize the security of health populations, hydro-projects in hilly regions, and the impact of climate change on ecosystems. Additionally, it will focus on the performance of DRDO and BSNL with an emphasis on 4G and 5G services.
The committee plans to evaluate the National Policy on Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, the BharatNet Scheme, FSSAI performance, and the Archaeological Survey of India. Issues like the resurgence in the manufacturing of toys, the national pharma policy, and utilization of disinvestment funds will also be examined, alongside plans for aspirational districts.
With a composition of 30 Lok Sabha members, the Estimates Committee aims to suggest alternative policies for administrative efficiency and economic improvements, while ensuring proper allocation and usage of funds within the policy framework.
