Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav took a strong stance against the BJP on Thursday, accusing the ruling party of selective outrage in crimes against women. He stated that while BJP vocally criticizes opposition-ruled states for such incidents, it conveniently ignores similar issues in its own governed regions.
Addressing party workers, Yadav highlighted that incidents akin to those in West Bengal were happening in Uttar Pradesh, with the BJP showing little concern. He pointed out that the BJP has rendered the Dial 1090 Women Power Line service, initiated by the Samajwadi government to curb crimes against women, ineffective.
Yadav also questioned the BJP's silence regarding the suspicious deaths of two girls in Farrukhabad. He expressed that the BJP's indifference in its own states reflects a moral failing. Yadav called upon SP workers to prepare for forthcoming by-elections and the 2027 assembly elections, asserting that BJP's downfall was imminent.
