A former CRPF officer, Vikas Jakhar, was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly manhandled Congress MLA Rafeek Khan during a meeting at Khan's residence, according to police sources.
Jakhar, who received the Shaurya Chakra award, accused MLA Khan of harassing his wife. The confrontation escalated when Jakhar grabbed Khan's collar, prompting bystanders to intervene and subdue Jakhar.
SHO Balbir Kaswan confirmed that Jakhar was arrested for disturbing the peace and stated that the police are conducting a thorough investigation to understand Jakhar's motives.
