Odisha vigilance officials arrested Purendra Kumar Sethy, an official with the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), on Thursday, on charges related to disproportionate assets.
Sethy, a record supplier who is involved in the organization of class 12 state board exams, was found in possession of a four-storeyed building in Bhubaneswar, 16 benami records of rights (RoRs), bank and other deposits totaling Rs 16.77 lakhs, Rs 1.70 lakh in cash, two four-wheelers, five two-wheelers, and additional household articles.
The arrest followed raids conducted on Wednesday at three separate locations in Bhubaneswar and Jagatsinghpur district, based on a tip-off.
