The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SAI Bahrain, the National Audit Office of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to foster enhanced collaboration and mutual cooperation in audit activities.
The MoU aims to advance professional skills among the staff of both nations and promotes the exchange of expertise, CAG stated.
'Through this agreement, a platform will be established to facilitate training, expert visits, and the exchange of technical information and research in auditing,' the CAG said.
CAG of India Girish Chandra Murmu said the MoU would open several avenues for operationalizing knowledge sharing and capacity-building initiatives between the two Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs).
Murmu expressed confidence that the robust bilateral relationship reflects shared values and objectives, ultimately reinforcing the bonds between the SAIs and their nations.
Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, Auditor General of Bahrain's National Audit Office, highlighted the agreement's significance in enhancing audit methodologies and professional capabilities of both institutions.
The signing of this MoU marks a milestone in further strengthening bilateral relationships and fostering closer collaboration between the two SAIs, CAG added.
During his visit to Manama, Murmu also praised the Odia community in Bahrain for bolstering Odisha's identity globally.
