The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has officially scheduled the ward committee elections for the appointment of chairmen and deputy chairmen for each of the 12 zonal bodies on September 4.
The elections will be conducted through a secret ballot, as mandated by the Delhi Municipal Corporation Regulations, 1958. Councillors have until August 30 to submit their nominations.
The voting will occur between 10 am and 4 pm at the Hansraj Gupta Auditorium and Satya Narayan Bansal Auditorium at MCD headquarters, covering various zones. The elections' delay of over one and a half years, stemming from a political deadlock between AAP and BJP, has hindered significant policy decisions.
