Five Palestinians Killed in Israeli Strike in West Bank's Nur Shams Camp
An Israeli strike on the Nur Shams refugee camp in the occupied West Bank resulted in the deaths of five Palestinians. This came amid increased clashes between Israeli forces and militant groups like Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The ongoing conflict has led to numerous casualties on both sides.
Five Palestinians were killed on Monday in an Israeli airstrike in the Nur Shams refugee camp near Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank, according to a statement from the Palestinian health ministry.
The Israeli military confirmed that its aircraft targeted a militant operations center within the camp, with further details yet to be disclosed. The official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that four loud explosions were heard after an Israeli drone struck a house in the camp.
Since the start of the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza last year, clashes in the occupied West Bank have intensified, with the Israeli military escalating its operations against armed groups, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Palestinian Health Ministry data indicates that thousands of Palestinians have been arrested and at least 637 killed, comprising armed fighters, stone-throwing youths, and uninvolved civilians. During the same period, at least 30 Israelis, both civilians and soldiers, have been killed by Palestinians in Jerusalem and the West Bank, according to official Israeli figures.
