Three more men were arrested on Monday in connection with the alleged firing of a gunshot outside a cafe in southwest Delhi's Satya Niketan area, according to police reports. The incident took place late Sunday evening following a dispute over seating arrangements.
Police initially arrested Ahmed and Aurangzeb, both 26, shortly after the incident. On Monday, they apprehended three additional suspects: Atul, 20, Javed, 23, and Adil, 19. The men had reportedly traveled from northeast Delhi's Jahangirpuri to celebrate Ahmed's birthday.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Rohit Meena, the SUV and the illegal firearm used in the shooting have been confiscated. Javed, who allegedly opened fire, has a prior criminal record. The police retrieved CCTV footage to corroborate the events leading to the shooting.
