The Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) on black money will submit its ninth interim report to the apex court within the next 15 days, according to the panel's vice-chairman Justice (Retired) Arijit Pasayat.

After assuming power in May 2014, the Narendra Modi government, during its initial cabinet meeting, sanctioned the appointment of the SIT as directed by the Supreme Court. Justice Pasayat reported that eight reports have already been submitted, with the ninth one forthcoming and acknowledged ongoing work would require further future reports.

Justice Pasayat is on a three-day visit to the state and is expected to convene a meeting with officials from IT, ED, Customs, Excise, and the Central Board of Indirect Tax departments in Cuttack on August 28. Director of ED Rahul Navin is also slated to participate in the meeting.
