In a tragic early morning incident, three men lost their lives after a canter truck allegedly ran over them while they were sleeping on a footpath in northeast Delhi's Shastri Park area, according to police reports.

The incident happened around 4:30 am near the Tarbuz market close to the Shastri Park metro station. The victims, reportedly homeless, were resting on the footpath when the vehicle veered onto the central verge, crushing them under its wheels.

Following the accident, the truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. The victims were rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where three were pronounced dead. The two injured, identified as Mushtaq (35) and Kamlesh (36), were taken to GTB Hospital. Police have initiated efforts to capture the absconding driver and identify the deceased.
