At least 15 people, including children, were killed in drone strikes on the town of Tinzaouaten in north Mali on Sunday, as confirmed by Tuareg rebels. The incident follows a severe attack on the Malian army by insurgents last month.

The drone strikes targeted a civilian home, a pharmacy, and other locations in Tinzaouaten, a town near the Algerian border, according to Mohamed Elmaouloud Ramadane, a spokesperson for the rebel coalition Permanent Strategic Framework for Peace, Security and Development (CSP).

Mali's army has not commented on the latest strike. Tinzaouaten has witnessed intense fighting in recent months, with Tuareg and jihadist groups launching significant attacks against Malian soldiers and Russian Wagner mercenaries in the area.
