Mother and Son Arrested in Navi Mumbai Homicide Case
A 40-year-old woman and her son were arrested for allegedly causing her husband's death in Navi Mumbai. The victim, an alcoholic who used to beat them, succumbed to injuries after being assaulted by the duo during a violent episode. Police arrested them following an investigation.

A 40-year-old woman and her son have been arrested in Navi Mumbai for allegedly causing the death of her husband four months ago, police revealed on Sunday.
The arrests of Digha residents Laxmi Bhagwan Patekar and her 23-year-old son, Sumit, were made on Saturday. Authorities charged them under section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, according to senior inspector Devendra Pol of the Rabale MIDC police station.
The victim, Bhagwan Patekar, who was 52 years old and known to be an alcoholic, reportedly used to assault the mother-son duo. On May 20, during one such violent episode, the accused allegedly retaliated, resulting in the victim being hospitalized. He succumbed to internal injuries on May 26.
Following a thorough investigation, the police have now arrested the duo for their involvement in his death, Inspector Pol confirmed.
