Union Home Minister Amit Shah has stressed the urgent need to heighten efforts in the campaign against Left Wing Extremism (LWE). He underscored the importance of cutting off financial and arms supplies to Naxalites during a pivotal review meeting held in Nava Raipur, attended by key officials from seven affected states.

The meeting covered a comprehensive strategy to tackle LWE, enhance inter-state coordination, improve the capacity of security forces, expedite investigations and prosecutions, and ensure holistic development in Maoist-affected areas. Shah emphasized the decisive stage of the campaign and committed to eradicating the menace by March 2026.

He insisted on increased speed and intensity in anti-Naxal operations, urging continuous monitoring and regular review meetings. The Home Minister also highlighted the need for a flexible yet secure surrender policy and advocated for transferring inter-state Naxal cases to the National Investigation Agency. The meeting saw participation from high-ranking officials, including the Chief Ministers, Union Ministers, and top police and intelligence officials from affected states.
