Israeli Jets Strike Lebanon Amid Hezbollah Tensions
Israeli jets launched strikes in Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah after the group allegedly prepared to fire rockets and missiles at Israel. The Israel Defence Forces stated that these preemptive strikes were in response to identified threats from Hezbollah. Hezbollah has not commented on the strikes.
Israeli jets launched strikes in Lebanon early Sunday, targeting positions held by the Iranian-backed Hezbollah movement. This action came after the Israel Defence Forces assessed that Hezbollah was preparing to fire rockets and missiles into Israeli territory.
"The IDF identified the Hezbollah terrorist organization preparing to fire missiles and rockets toward Israeli territory. In response to these threats, the IDF is striking terror targets in Lebanon," stated the Israel Defence Forces.
Hezbollah has not yet released an official comment on the Israeli strikes.
