Delhi Police have filed an FIR following the display of a pornographic video on a digital advertisement board in Connaught Place, officials confirmed on Saturday.

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), which oversees the area, issued a statement suggesting the screen might have been hacked using advanced technology.

Passersby first noticed the explicit video on one of the LED screens on Thursday night. The footage, which lasted only a few seconds, was swiftly removed with the assistance of NDMC officials, according to police.

The NDMC operates two types of panels in its areas—one for advertisements and the other an interactive touchscreen. Both are reportedly secured with firewalls and antivirus software.

This incident appears to be isolated, with only one of the panels being compromised. The NDMC is investigating the breach's method. Police have opened a case under relevant sections of the BNS, and the investigation is continuing.

Connaught Place is a historic and bustling commercial hub in the heart of the national capital.
