A man identified as Bhim Singh, also known as Shakti, has been booked for making objectionable comments against the Dalit community in an online video, police disclosed on Saturday. Singh, a resident of Aundi village, was booked under several sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the IT Act.

Circle Officer Shyam Kant stated that Singh was seen making lewd comments aimed at the Dalit community. Organizations had announced a Bharat Bandh on August 21 to protest a recent Supreme Court decision on sub-classification in Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe reservations.

Supporters of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Bhim Army staged a demonstration at the Phephana intersection on Friday, voicing their outrage over Singh's statements.
