In a sharp critique of the recent actions in Chhatarpur, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has labeled 'bulldozer justice' as completely unacceptable. The condemnation follows the demolition of a man's house after he was accused of participating in violence during a protest.
Posting in Hindi on X, Priyanka Gandhi emphasized that only the courts have the authority to adjudicate crime and punishment. She argued that punishing the family of an accused, removing their home, and ignoring judicial processes constitutes gross injustice and barbarism.
She further highlighted the necessity for lawmakers and law enforcers to distinguish themselves from lawbreakers, urging adherence to constitutional and democratic principles. Gandhi pointed out that governments should not act like criminals and stressed the importance of 'rajdharma' or duty of governance.
