An argument involving a child playing with a top escalated into a fight between two families, resulting in a police case, officials reported on Saturday.
The incident unfolded on the night of August 22 at the Saibaba slum colony, under the jurisdiction of the Rabale MIDC police station.
A woman, sitting with her young child, saw a neighborhood boy playing with a top. The toy's pointed base accidentally struck the woman's daughter, prompting her to request the boy play more carefully, according to officials.
The situation intensified when the boy's father arrived with a friend. They verbally abused the woman and allegedly assaulted her brother. Following the woman's complaint, police registered a case of assault and voluntarily causing hurt under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
