A man was arrested on Friday for allegedly raping a 13-year-old schoolgirl in Chhattisgarh's Korba district, a police official reported.

The incident occurred on Thursday near a forest in Naktikhar, under Kotwali police station limits.

The accused, Krishna Yadav (30) from Tilkeja village, was detained after he allegedly offered the victim a lift home from school, took her to an isolated forest area, and committed the crime. Authorities recovered the motorcycle used in the abduction and a mobile phone from Yadav's possession.

A case has been filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and an investigation is currently underway.
