A 56-year-old police sub-inspector was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident in Nagpur's Sadar area on Thursday night, an official confirmed.

Identified as Deepak Chorpagar, the officer was on his way home to Godhni Road area when a speeding car collided with his motorcycle, causing severe injuries. The driver fled the scene, leaving Chorpagar critically injured.

Passersby rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he was declared dead upon arrival. A case has been registered under section 106(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. Police are actively searching for the driver involved in the incident.
