Stepmother Booked for Torturing Stepsons in Palghar, Maharashtra

A case has been filed against a woman in Maharashtra's Palghar district, alleging she beat and tortured her stepsons, according to local police on Friday.
Following a complaint, police registered a case on Thursday against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, as confirmed by an official from the Valiv Police Station.
The stepsons, aged eight and seven, lived with their father and stepmother. Allegedly, the woman assaulted the older boy with a fork, burned the younger boy's private parts, and struck him with a rolling pin. The police official added that the boys faced consistent physical and verbal abuse. Investigations are ongoing, with no arrests made thus far.
