Major Funding Announced for Rural Employment in Andhra Pradesh
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced a Rs 4,500 crore sanction for the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) works during a gram sabha meeting. The funds aim to create nine crore workdays for 54 lakh families. Naidu also promised to transform villages with new roads, drainage systems, and other amenities.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday participated in one of the 13,226 gram sabhas held across Andhra Pradesh and announced a sanctioned budget of Rs 4,500 crore for Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) projects.
The chief minister stated that the funds would enable the creation of nine crore workdays for 54 lakh families. He emphasized that gram sabhas will approve 87 types of works, and more funds would be allocated if necessary.
Naidu committed to village transformations over the next five years, including the construction of 17,500 km of cement roads and 10,000 km of drainage systems. He also promised to ensure gas connections, tap water, and toilets for every household.
