Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has opened a criminal case against CNN journalist Nick Paton Walsh, accusing him of illegally crossing into the Kursk region to film a report after a Ukrainian incursion.
Walsh, a British citizen and CNN's Chief International Security Correspondent, is among three journalists targeted by the FSB, which also named two Ukrainian journalists.
A CNN spokesperson defended Walsh's reporting as protected under the Geneva Convention and international law. The FSB stated that Moscow would issue an international arrest warrant for the journalists, who face up to five years in jail if convicted.
