The superyacht, named Bayesian, capsized during a severe storm while anchored off Porticello, near Palermo. 15 out of the 22 people on board survived, while the body of the onboard chef was discovered shortly after the disaster.
Rescue officials have described the inspection of the wreck as a complex and lengthy operation, hampered by debris and obstructed interior spaces. Authorities are using remote-operated vehicles for underwater scanning and plan to analyze findings to understand the cause of the incident.
