Sergei Chemezov, a key associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has issued a stark warning that continued Western support for Ukraine could trigger a global war. Speaking to Reuters, Chemezov emphasized that if the United States continues to 'provoke' the conflict by enabling Ukrainian strikes into Russian territory, the risks could escalate dramatically.

Chemezov, who heads Rostec, a major supplier of Russian weaponry, affirmed Russia's confidence and preparedness as the conflict enters its third year. His comments offer a rare glimpse into the mindset of Putin's inner circle in the wake of a recent Ukrainian incursion into Russia's Kursk region. The Kremlin has vowed a 'worthy' response but has not disclosed details.

Reflecting the Kremlin's stance, Chemezov portrayed the conflict as a direct confrontation between Russia and the West. He criticized the U.S. for supplying weapons to Kyiv and enabling strikes deep into Russia, accusing Western nations of failing to grasp the severe risks involved. Despite these tensions, Chemezov insists that sanctions and supply chain disruptions have not crippled Russia, highlighting Rostec's increased weapon production and economic contributions.
