The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is considering conducting a polygraph test on Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. This move comes as part of the continuing investigation into the alleged rape and murder of a woman doctor earlier this month.
Ghosh, who stepped down from his position two days after the doctor's body was discovered in a seminar hall on August 9, has been repeatedly questioned by CBI officers. 'We intend to further verify Ghosh's answers due to discrepancies in some responses,' stated a CBI official. Consequently, a polygraph test is being considered for clarity.
Over recent days, investigators have interrogated Ghosh regarding his actions following the news of the doctor's death, his subsequent contacts, and reasons for purportedly delaying the parents from seeing the body. Additionally, questions have been raised about the authorisation of renovation work near the seminar hall where the body was found.
