Teen Electrocuted by Open Wire: KEDL Officials Face Charges

A 14-year-old boy named Vishu alias Kalu Bairwa was electrocuted to death by an open wire at his apartment's entrance while playing cricket. A case has been filed against officials of Kota Electricity Distribution Limited (KEDL) for culpable homicide and negligence.

A 14-year-old boy, Vishu alias Kalu Bairwa, tragically lost his life on Tuesday after being electrocuted by an open wire at the entrance of his apartment in Kota, police reported.

The incident occurred around 1 pm while Vishu, a class 9 student and resident of Parshavnath Apartment, was playing cricket with friends. Vishu was electrocuted when he attempted to retrieve a ball that had come near the exposed wires of an underground high-tension power line, resulting in his immediate death.

In response to a complaint from the victim's family, authorities have lodged a case of culpable homicide and negligence against officials of Kota Electricity Distribution Limited (KEDL). Investigations continue as the community mourns the tragic loss.
