The parents of a woman doctor, who was allegedly raped and murdered at a Kolkata hospital, have raised concerns with West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose about not receiving a copy of the FIR.
Governor Bose, in response, assured the grieving family of justice and said he would address the issue. He spoke to her father and mother, promising to visit their residence in Sodepur near Kolkata at their convenience. Bose was seen in a video message expressing his support for the family.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over the case from the Kolkata Police following an order by the Calcutta High Court. The body of the post-graduate trainee was found at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9, leading to nationwide outrage and protests by junior doctors demanding stronger security measures in hospitals.
