Congress Revamps Law and Human Rights Department

The Congress has reconstituted its Law, Human Rights, and RTI department, appointing Abhishek Manu Singhvi as chairman. Senior lawyers like Salman Khurshid, KTS Tulsi, and Vivek Tankha are part of the new panel. Additionally, war-room chairpersons for Maharashtra, Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls have been designated.

The Congress on Saturday reconstituted its Law, Human Rights, and RTI department, appointing Abhishek Manu Singhvi as its chairman.

Renowned senior lawyers, including Salman Khurshid and KTS Tulsi, have been incorporated into the department.

Furthermore, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge approved the appointments of new war-room chairpersons for the forthcoming Maharashtra, Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls. Challa Vamshi Chand Reddy, Naveen Sharma, and Gokul Butail will head the war-room operations in these states, respectively.

Sasikanth Senthil will remain the national war-room chairman, as per a statement issued by the party.

The reconstituted department's executive panel features Muhammad Ali Khan as its secretary, with Aman Panwar, Omar Hoda, and others serving as members.
