In a startling display, Chechnya's regional leader Ramzan Kadyrov shared a video on Saturday showing himself at the helm of a Tesla Cybertruck, which appeared to have a machinegun mounted on top. Kadyrov announced plans to send the militarized vehicle to the Ukraine conflict zone.
Known for his eye-catching publicity stunts, Kadyrov lavished praise on Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk on the Telegram messaging app, calling him the "strongest genius of modern times" and extending an invitation for Musk to visit Chechnya.
"We... await your future products that will help us finish the special military operation," Kadyrov wrote, using the Russian government's official term for the war in Ukraine. There has been no immediate response from Tesla regarding this development.
