Woman Defends Herself Against Drunken Advances with Kitchen Spatula in Thane

The man, Anil Satyanarayan Raccha, was reportedly drunk and tried to harass the woman at her home. Raccha has been hospitalized, and a case has been registered against him.

A 30-year-old man was injured after a woman used a metal spatula to fend off his alleged unwanted advances in Thane district, Maharashtra, officials said on Saturday.

The accused, Anil Satyanarayan Raccha, who was reportedly drunk, attempted to harass the 26-year-old woman at her residence in Bhiwandi. Around 4.30 pm on Friday, Raccha entered her home and made sexual overtures, allegedly even exposing himself.

To defend herself, the woman raised an alarm and grabbed a metal spatula from her kitchen, striking Raccha and injuring his genitals, officials cited from the FIR. Raccha, badly injured, rushed out seeking medical help and has since been hospitalized. Bhiwandi town police registered a case against Raccha for outraging the woman's modesty, sexual harassment, and trespassing under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). He has not been arrested as he is still in the hospital, officials added.
