Peruvian Gang Leader Arrested in New York

Gianfranco Torres-Navarro, a notorious Peruvian gang leader linked to nearly two dozen killings, has been apprehended in New York by US immigration officers. ICE confirmed the arrest took place in Endicott, New York, placing Torres-Navarro in federal detention in Buffalo pending an immigration hearing.

Torres-Navarro, who illegally entered the US via the Texas-Mexico border, is the head of the 'Los Killers' gang, responsible for numerous violent crimes in Peru. His girlfriend, Mishelle Sol Ivanna Ortíz Ubillús, was also detained in Pennsylvania. Both are sought by Peruvian authorities for multiple criminal charges including extortion and murder.

ICE officials emphasize that dangerous noncitizens will not find sanctuary in New York. Peru's justice system has corroborated the international arrest warrants for Torres-Navarro and his partner, further confirming their involvement in violent criminal activities.
