Tripura Witnesses Improved Law and Order, Pursues Industrial Growth

Tripura's law and order situation has seen significant improvement over the past year, Chief Minister Manik Saha announced on Thursday. The police have successfully carried out anti-drug campaigns, seizing various narcotics and illegal substances.
Speaking at the Independence Day program at Assam Rifles ground, Saha noted that recent elections were peaceful with reduced incidents of theft, murder, and rape. The state aims to reduce its dependency on agriculture by 50%, focusing instead on increasing trade and turning Tripura into a logistic hub.
The government has launched the Tripura Industrial Promotion Incentive Scheme-2024, targeting industries like gas, bamboo, tourism, and healthcare. A memorandum of understanding with Tata Consultancy Services has been signed to modernize industrial training centers and enhance youth skills. Saha also called for public participation to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Viksit Bharat' and 'Ek Tripura Shrestha Tripura.'
