The United States is aware of reports of a U.S. citizen being detained in Russia and that it was working to get as much information as it can, the U.S. State Department said on Wednesday. "We're aware of these reports of another American citizen being arrested in Russia, and we're working to get as much information as we can, working to ascertain the consular situation and see if consular access is available," Vedant Patel, deputy spokesperson at the department told a briefing.
Moscow court sentenced U.S. citizen Joseph Tater to 15 days in jail on Wednesday for petty hooliganism, according to a Telegram channel monitoring the city's courts.
