UN to Investigate Killings of Protestors in Bangladesh
A team of UN experts will soon visit Bangladesh to investigate the deaths of protestors surrounding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The announcement was made after a phone call between UN human rights chief Volker Turk and Bangladesh Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus this past Wednesday.

A team of UN experts will visit Bangladesh soon to investigate the deaths of protestors following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, announced on Wednesday.
According to the interim government's Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, UN human rights chief Volker Turk made a call to him this past Wednesday.
Bangladesh experienced significant upheaval last week when Prime Minister Hasina resigned and moved to India, prompting the Army to assume control on August 5. More than 500 people were killed in anti-government protests over the two weeks preceding her departure.
