Escalating Tensions: Israeli Raids and Palestinian Clashes in West Bank
Israeli forces conducted airstrikes and raids in the West Bank targeting Palestinian militants. The armed wing of Hamas reported fierce clashes in Tubas, where one of their fighters was killed. Since the Gaza war's onset, violence in the West Bank has surged, resulting in numerous casualties on both sides.
In recent military escalations, Israeli forces targeted Palestinian militants in Tamoun, located in the occupied West Bank. Concurrently, Hamas fighters engaged in intense clashes with Israeli troops in Tubas, following a fatal Israeli raid.
Since the Gaza conflict broke out last October, the West Bank has witnessed heightened violence, marked by increased Israeli raids, Jewish settler aggression, and Palestinian assaults. Hamas has stepped up its attacks in recent days. The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported the death of one man in Tubas and four others in Tamoun due to Israeli drone strikes.
Amid these tensions, the Al-Qassam Brigades confirmed that Fayyaz Fawaz Daraghmeh, a Hamas fighter, was killed in Tubas. An Israeli military statement mentioned that counterterrorism operations involved airstrikes targeting armed terrorists in Tamoun, without specifying casualties.
On the ground in Tubas, Reuters reporters observed a house damaged by gunfire and bloodstains. One boy recounted his father's tragic refusal to surrender during the raid. To date, the conflict has claimed 620 Palestinian lives in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, including combatants and civilians.
Thirty Israelis have also been killed by Palestinian attacks in the same region. Amid these developments, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is set to address the Turkish parliament, while international ceasefire talks are slated to proceed despite Hamas's refusal to attend.
