Prasar Bharati Launches PB-SHABD: A New Platform for Comprehensive News Sharing

On March 13, 2024, Prasar Bharati launched the Shared Audio-Visuals for Broadcast and Dissemination (PB-SHABD), a cutting-edge news sharing service designed to deliver daily news feeds in various formats including video, audio, text, and photos. This new platform aims to provide media organizations with extensive and diverse news coverage from across India.

Extensive Network for Comprehensive Coverage

PB-SHABD is supported by a robust network of over 1500 reporters, correspondents, and stringers, along with 60 dedicated edit desks operating 24/7. This extensive network ensures that the platform offers the latest news from every corner of India. Daily updates include more than 1000 stories spanning over 50 news categories, such as agriculture, technology, foreign affairs, and political developments. Content is provided in all major Indian languages through Regional News Units (RNUs) and headquarters.

Key Features of PB-SHABD

Logo-Free Content: All content provided by PB-SHABD is logo-free, eliminating the need for credit when using material from the platform.

Live Feed: The platform includes a Live Feed feature, offering exclusive live coverage of significant events such as National award ceremonies from Rashtrapati Bhawan, election rallies, major political events, and various press briefings, all without logos.

Media Repository: A Media Repository is being developed to serve as an archival library, giving subscribers access to rare and archival footage from the Doordarshan and Akashvani libraries, as well as specially curated packages.
