Two French Rafale military jets collided mid-air over Eastern France on Wednesday, leaving one pilot safe and another pilot along with a possible passenger missing, according to French officials and media reports.
'One of the pilots has been found, he's safe and sound. Research is still ongoing,' French Defence Minister Sebastien Lecornu said in a post on X, referring to rescue operations.
French media reported that rescuers were searching for a missing flying student and the other pilot. The Meurthe-et-Moselle prefecture posted on X that the local operational center has been activated to assist the armed forces and advised the public to stay away from the area.
