A farmer named Shyamlal from Sahjala village in Madhya Pradesh rolled down a muddy road on Tuesday in an unusual protest against local officials, accusing them of ignoring his complaints about land encroachment.
The incident caught widespread attention after a video of his protest went viral, prompting district collector Anup Kumar Singh to order immediate action. Shyamlal claimed the village revenue official had disregarded his plea to demarcate his land, allowing someone to illegally occupy it.
The collector has directed the sub-divisional magistrate to carry out the demarcation within ten days, and the allegation of encroachment will be verified post-demarcation. Shyamlal expressed that he possesses all the title documents, but powerful individuals have usurped his land, a situation worsened by the non-cooperation of the patwari.
