Six men accused of kidnapping and murdering a private university student in Uttar Pradesh were arrested under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, police reported on Tuesday.
Dadri SHO Sujeet Upadhyay confirmed that Rachit Nagar, Sushant, Sumit, Shivam, Shashikant, and Shubham Chaudhary were arrested under the legislation on Monday.
The suspects allegedly abducted Yash Mittal, a Bennett University student, in February. He was taken to Gajraula in Amroha district and murdered there. On February 27, Pradeep Mittal reported the abduction and ransom demand of Rs 6 crore.
The police apprehended some individuals and, following their interrogation, recovered Yash Mittal's body. The student had been lured under the guise of attending a party. A subsequent altercation led to his strangulation and burial in a pit on Hrithik's farm, another alleged accomplice.
