Zelenskiy Vows to Bring Peace: Cross-Border Assaults Target Moscow’s Aggression
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that Russia must be forced to seek peace as President Vladimir Putin persists in conflict. Emphasizing security, Zelenskiy highlighted Kyiv's cross-border operations and the recapture of strategic areas. The northeastern Sumy region faced over 2,100 attacks since June, signaling the war's return to Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy declared on Monday the necessity of compelling Russia to pursue peace in light of President Vladimir Putin's ongoing penchant for conflict, noting that war is now reversing course onto Russia's own territory.
In his nightly address, Zelenskiy emphasized the importance of Kyiv's extensive cross-border operations into the western Kursk region, describing them as critical for Ukraine's security. He announced the recapture of areas previously used by Russia to launch strikes, reinforcing the need to press Russia into a peace settlement. "Russia must be forced to make peace if Putin wants to fight so badly," Zelenskiy asserted.
Zelenskiy pointed out that Ukraine's northeastern Sumy region, directly bordering the Kursk region, had suffered nearly 2,100 cross-border strikes from Russia since June 1. "Russia brought war to others, and now it's coming home. Ukraine has always desired peace, and we will unquestionably secure it," he affirmed.
