Belarus Reinforces Border Amid Airspace Violations by Ukrainian Drones
Belarus has increased its military presence along its border with Ukraine, citing violations of its airspace by Ukrainian drones. President Alexander Lukashenko and the Belarusian Foreign Ministry have warned Ukraine of severe consequences for further breaches. Belarus is ready to respond to provocations.
Belarus has fortified its border with Ukraine, following multiple instances of Ukrainian drones breaching its airspace amid Kyiv's military activities in Russia's Kursk region.
In a swift retaliation, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry summoned Ukraine's charge d'affaires and demanded stringent measures to prevent such incidents. President Alexander Lukashenko stated that any further provocations would prompt a review of Kyiv's diplomatic presence in Minsk.
Addressing a meeting in eastern Belarus, Lukashenko revealed that air defence forces destroyed several drones in the Mogilev region and near Russia's Yaroslavl. Belarus is prepared to respond robustly to any future violations, with special operations and rocket forces already deployed to designated areas.
