An intermediate student attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison after allegedly being molested by two youths, police confirmed on Saturday.
The student was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared her out of danger.
The incident occurred while the student was on her way to school with her cousin. When the cousin intervened, he was assaulted by the accused. Locals and police arrived shortly after but the suspects fled. A case has been filed, and police are actively trying to apprehend the culprits.
