A man in Navi Mumbai has been apprehended by the police for allegedly raping and impregnating his 17-year-old neighbor, according to statements from an official on Saturday.
The case was registered on Friday following a complaint under pertinent sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, as confirmed by an official from the APMC police station.
The accused and the victim resided in the same building in Kopri village, Vashi. The assaults reportedly took place at the man's home on multiple occasions since 2020. The girl, who is now three months pregnant, has been admitted to a civic hospital.
