In Prayagraj, a shocking incident unfolded as brick kiln owner Monu Singh was shot dead by unidentified assailants late on August 4-5, according to the local police. Singh, 35, was attacked while sitting in the veranda of his kiln.

Upon hearing the gunfire, locals rushed to the scene and alerted the authorities. Singh was taken to a nearby medical college for immediate first aid before being referred to SRN Hospital for further treatment, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The police have registered a case under relevant legal sections and are actively pursuing the attackers. A post-mortem is being conducted in Prayagraj as the investigation continues.
