Three high-profile Naxalites, including two with a cumulative bounty of Rs 16 lakh, surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Friday, a police official confirmed.

Among them were Ramesh Farsa, Laxman Potam alias Mura, and female cadre Manki Madvi alias Sarita. Farsa, carrying a bounty of Rs 8 lakh, was a member of the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army's Platoon Number 1. Sarita, also with an Rs 8 lakh bounty, was part of the Central Regional Command's Platoon Number 1.

Potam, identified as the Deputy Commander of Pusnar Militia Platoon 'C' Section, along with the others, cited the state government's surrender and rehabilitation policy as their motivation. Each received Rs 25,000 and will be rehabilitated according to policy. This year, 145 Naxalites have surrendered, and 326 have been detained in the state, police reported.
