The Kerala High Court has intervened following the catastrophic landslides in the Mundakkai and Chooralmala regions of Wayanad, which occurred on July 30 and resulted in at least 226 fatalities, displacing thousands.
A bench consisting of justices A K Jayasankaran Nambiar and V M Syam Kumar directed the registrar general to initiate a case based on extensive media reports regarding the disaster.
The division bench is scheduled to review the matter on Friday morning. As reported by local authorities, an additional 138 individuals remain unaccounted for as of the latest update.
